About the Florida Online English Class Pilot Program
This pilot initiative is a multi-organization collaboration to provide Florida adult learners with more options to practice their English. Working together with the support of trained volunteer instructors, we seek to collectively offer a broad selection of free online conversation classes to supplement English language learning.
This program uses the highly regarded We Speak NYC curriculum, made available through the support of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA). The series includes 17 Emmy Award-winning episodes that address issues that concern many immigrants, such as health care, healthy lifestyle, education, early childhood education, and managing finances.
Special thanks to the Kislak Family Foundation for its generous financial support, and to MOIA and our literacy organization partners for helping to make this program possible. If your organization may be interested in joining this collaboration, please contact Greg Smith.
